Papers & Authors

The call for abstracts has now officially closed. All authors have been notified via email as to the outcome. If you have not received notification, please contact the Conference Technical Secretary as soon as possible.

Papers will be reviewed by a minimum of two referees and may be rejected or require modification depending on the referees' recommendations. Final papers will be required by 26 August 2010. This will allow for publishing and inclusion into the conference proceedings which will be available to participants at the Conference.

The 24th ARRB Conference, Building on 50 years of road and transport research, will focus on expanding on research outcomes to address emerging issues affecting the road and transport industry, and the global community.

Priority will be given to papers that address the conference theme.

Abstracts of the final papers will be included in the abstract book available to participants at the conference.

ARRB Academy Young Professional Award

To encourage high quality papers and development of young  professionals in the road industry, this year’s ARRB Conference is offering an award for the best research paper submitted to the Conference by a young professional. The recipients of the award will be determined by a peer review, and judges from the Technical Committee. The winner will be awarded a cash prize and a certificate which will be presented during the Conference.

To be eligible for this award, an individual must be a young professional (in this case defined as 35 years or younger by 30 April 2010 (paper submission date). If there is more than one author, the primary author should be 35 years or younger. The paper must follow the submission guidelines.

If you wish your paper to be considered for the ARRB Academy Young Professional Award, please send an email to the Technical Secretary advising so when you submit your paper.

Copyright license agreement

The Author allows ARRB Group Ltd to publish the work/s submitted for the 24th ARRB Conference, granting ARRB the non-exclusive right to:

  • publish the work in printed format
  • publish the work in electronic format
  • publish the work online.

The author retains the right to use their work, illustrations (line art, photographs, figures, plates) and research data in their own future works.

The Author warrants that they are entitled to deal with the Intellectual Property Rights in the works submitted, including clearing all third party intellectual property rights and obtaining formal permission from their respective institutions or employers before submission, where necessary.
