Looking to the Future

I have pleasure in inviting you to the 24th ARRB Conference to be held in Melbourne on the 13-15 October 2010. The theme for the conference is Building on 50 years of road and transport research.

Since their commencement in 1962, ARRB Conferences have been marked by their ability to bring together a broad range of experience and expertise from Australia, New Zealand and around the world, creating a stimulating and thought-provoking setting for all those who attend. For nearly 50 years now, ARRB Group has been committed to several constant aims:

  • excellence in research and development
  • the practical application of knowledge to road transport systems
  • the development of multi-disciplinary expertise
  • being prepared for the future.


The 2010 Conference will see these aims applied in the papers and discussions under topics reflected in the National Transport Strategy including:

  • congestion, freight and productivity
  • safe systems
  • sustainable infrastructure sciences and technology
  • infrastructure management.

Your participation either as an author of a paper or delegate would be greatly welcomed. I look forward to meeting you in Melbourne in 2010.
